History

The Foundation of Child Understanding (FOCUS) was founded in August 2002 under the name Anti-Trafficking Coordination Unit Northern Thailand (TRAFCORD) through cooperation with the Chiang Mai Coordination Center for the Protection of Children’s and Women’s Rights. The original concept was to emphasize the protection of the rights of children and women. 

Mission

To serve as a 24 hour call center for notification and referrals of child abuse and exploitation cases; to serve as a coordination center for the development of networks to protect children from being abused and exploited; to create and develop mechanisms for child protection and assistance; to raise awareness and understanding among people within the community in order to encourage them to play a proactive part in protecting children and combating human trafficking

To become an organization that drives an effective protection system for vulnerable children and adults in society; to be an organization which is accepted by multilateral partners
